The “Christorda” is a NYC apartment building. The author writes in the unique way similar to a doing a crossword puzzle. Facts that seem unrelated will fit together as the chapters go by; families from generation to generation that are the population in the building. Truly fascinating as one reads about the different demographics and wealth incomes from working class immigrants that become wealthy to their privileged children that live in a building surrounded by poverty.
This is a hard book to read, not because of the way it is written, rather that the subject matter dwells deeply into the Aids epidemic that will break the readers’ hearts. It takes awhile to get into this book but stick with it. This is a gritty tale yet so good you will not be able to put it down.
